How can we help?
Help with Waffle Weather for Hong Kong.
Read the rain map
Rain marks show lighter rain. Golden egg waffles appear from 5 mm in an HKO forecast window. Move the rain timeline to choose a forecast time, or tap play to watch it change.
Tap the weather summary to open current conditions and the 9-day forecast. Use the stacked Layers icon on the map to choose weather and city layers. The location arrow centres the map on you.
Location access
Local rain arrival times need location access inside Hong Kong. Without it, you can still explore the map. To review permission, open Waffle Weather in iPhone Settings and check Location access.
Map or forecast unavailable
Check your internet connection. If the map offers Reload map, tap it to try loading again. If the weather or 9-day forecast offers Try again, use that button to request another update.
Missing forecast data does not mean no rain. An older HKO forecast comes from an earlier issue and is not a current observation. For official weather information, visit the Hong Kong Observatory.
Rain alerts
In the app, open Settings, then Alerts & places to choose rain alerts and tracked places. Check the delivery status shown there and review notification permission in iPhone Settings.
City art and purchases
Weather, rain prediction and the standard map are free. Early Supporter is a one-time HK$38 purchase for the current city-art preview in the Hong Kong App Store. No subscription. The map is unfinished and future roadmap features may change.
Open Layers → City art, or Settings → About Waffle → Help build v2. Use Restore Purchases on that page with the Apple Account used for the purchase.
TestFlight purchases are free and do not carry over to the App Store release. Build 104 was uploaded on 22 September 2026. External beta access still awaits Apple’s approval. Open TestFlight.
